Two Lady Hornets scored in double-figures on the evening, but a 24-point 3rd quarter by Towanda put the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team on the losing end of a 60-35 game on Tuesday, January 11.
Wellsboro kept the game close in the first half, trailing 12-8 after the first quarter and 26-17 at halftime, but were outscored 24-9 in the third to put the game firmly in Towanda's hands.
Senior Emma Coolidge and freshman Paige Logsdon both scored 10 points on the night to lead Wellsboro. Freshman Chloe Brandenburg finished with 6, sophomore Maddy Mascho added 5 points, and senior Emma Brandenburg rounded out the scoring with 4.
Logsdon added 8 rebounds and 3 steals, Emma Brandenburg had 3 assists and 5 rebounds, and Coolidge also grabbed 5 rebounds.
Wellsboro split the evening winning the JV game 36-7 behind 10 points form sophomore Emily Morris and 8 from sophomore Hannah Gilmour.
