A penalty kick by senior Jordyn Abernathy was the only scoring the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team needed to defeat Williamson on Tuesday, September 20.
Abernathy converted the kick with 33:05 remaining in the 1st half after drawing a foul.
Wellsboro held on the rest of the way to preserve the shut out.
Sophomore Annie Gehman recorded 12 saves in goal.
In the JV game the Lady Hornets also won 1-0, only their goal came with 30 seconds remaining. Freshman Emily Benjamin scored the game-winner.
The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 4-3 (3-2 NTL). The team is back in action on Thursday, September 22 when they travel to Wyalusing.
