The Wellsboro Cross Country teams dropped a pair of races between Athens and Wyalusing on Tuesday, October 4.
In the boys meet Wyalusing beat Wellsboro 15-50 and Athens 23-38. Athens also beat Wellsboro 19-40.
Sophomore Chris Greenawalt led the Hornets in 11th at 20:11, followed by freshman Max Macias (20:13) in 13th, freshman Henry Whitney (23:02) in 17th, freshman Robbie Bowers (29:26) in 22nd, and junior Tristan Lane (42:04) in 24th.
In the girls meet Wyalusing beat Athens 25-32 and Wellsboro 18-41. Athens also beat Wellsboro 21-40.
Senior Madeline Gage finished 4th overall in 21:52. Senior Julia DeCamp (25:36) was 11th and sophomore Karah Blackwell (31:57) was 16th.
In the junior high races, Wellsboro swept the girls winning 15-50 over Athens and 20-37 over Wyalusing. Wellsboro dropped both in the boys, falling to Athens 19-44 and to Wyalusing 20-35.
Lauren Kosek (10:57) and Isla Twoey (11:47) took the top two spots for the girls while Michael Knefly (10:17) was 3rd for the boys.
The teams are back in action on Tuesday, October 11 against Sullivan County and Troy.
