The Wellsboro Boys Cross Country team placed 8th at the NTL Coaches Invite at Northeast Bradford on Saturday, October 15.
The Hornets had 253 places to finish ahead of Sullivan County and North Penn-Mansfield. Cowanesque Valley won with 42 places, followed by Towanda (60), Northeast Bradford (69), Wyalusing (96), Troy (107), Athens (127), and Canton (228).
The girls team did not have enough runners to register a team score. Northeast Bradford won with 39 places followed by Wyalusing (62), Athens (80), North Penn-Mansfield (92), Towanda (111), Cowanesque Valley (138), and Canton (151).
Senior Madeline Gage paced the Lady Hornets with a 9th place finish in 22:19. Senior Julia DeCamp was 32nd with a time of 26:13 and sophomore Karah Blackwell was 56th (31:17).
For the boys, freshman Max Macias came home in 33rd (20:24), sophomore Chris Greenawalt (21:34) was 49th, freshman Henry Whitney (21:44) was 52nd, freshman Robbie Bowers (25:03) was 91st, and junior Tristan Lane (43:29) was 99th.
The teams will be back in action at the PIAA District IV Championships at Bloomsburg University on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
