The Coudersport Lady Falcons outscored the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team 32-16 in the second and third quarters to defeat the Lady Hornets 46-37 in non-league play on Tuesday, December 27.
Wellsboro trailed 11-9 after the opening quarter, but found themselves down 16 at halftime. Trailing 43-25 entering the 4th quarter, the Lady Hornets put together a 12-run over the final eight minutes, but were unable to complete the comeback.
Sophomore Paige Logsdon led the Lady Hornets with 15 points on the evening while sophomore Chloe Brandenburg added 11. Senior Hailie Kerr added 4, junior Maddy Mascho finished with 3, and senior Ella Posada and junior Emily Richardson chipped in two points each.
Emma Chambers led all scorers with 17 points.
Coudersport won the JV game 22-14. Junior Hannah Gilmour had 5 for the Lady Hornets.
The loss drops Wellsboro to 2-5 (2-2 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action on Thursday against St. John Neumann.
