A goal by junior Sara Seeling was the difference in a 1-0 win for the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team against Towanda on Thursday, September 15.
Seeling's goal came with 2:27 remaining in the game off an assist from senior Jordyn Abernathy. The Lady Hornets only took six shot attempts on goal, but that one was all they needed for the win.
Towanda took 18 shot attempts on the night, all of them stopped by sophomore Annie Gehman for the clean sheet.
Wellsboro also had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
"I'm very proud of the intensity and play the girls kept up the entire game," said head coach Jason Gehman. "Our defense held a great back line and we were glad to find the back of the net on the attack."
The win evens Wellsboro's record up at 3-3 (2-2 NTL). The team is back in action next Tuesday, September 20 against Williamson.
