MIFFLINBURG - Selinsgrove struggled to get off the field on defense, and Mifflinburg scored all three of its touchdowns off Seals' turnovers as the Wildcats took the Heartland Athletic Conference-Division I contest.
"Two turnovers down deep in their territory, momentum in football is a funny thing. We had a chance to punch those in, and get the momentum," Selinsgrove coach Derek Hicks said. "They get the turnovers, and flip that."
The Wildcats (5-1 overall, 2-1 HAC-I) forced a fumble deep in Selinsgrove territory early in the second quarter. Mark Pastore found Ethan Miller for a 23-yard gain to the Mifflinburg 7, but at the end of the play, Carter Breed forced a fumble, recovered by Brian Reader.
Mifflinburg went on a 93-yard, 14-play drive, capped by Breed's 12-yard TD run to take a 7-0 lead.
Selinsgrove (4-2, 2-2) took the second-half kickoff, and drove to the Mifflinburg 16, but another fumble - this on the exchange between Pastore and Tucker Teats - gave the ball back to the Wildcats.
Andrew Diehl would rip off a 51-yard TD run to cap that drive. The two-point pass failed, and the Wildcats led 13-0.
The Wildcats final TD came on a Breed interception return in the fourth quarter.
Teats led the Seals offense with 89 yards on 20 carries. Corey Rumberger led the defense with 15 tackles, while Miller finished with 11, including 2.5 for a loss.
