Wellsboro takes 2nd in tri-meet with Canton, Troy

The Wellsboro Track teams brought home a pair of 2nd place finishes in a tri-meet against Canton and Troy on Wednesday, April 20.

Troy won both meets. In the boys meet the Trojans scored scored 90.5 points, Wellsboro scored 49.5, and Canton was 3rd with 48. In the girls meet Troy scored 85 points, followed by Wellsboro with 69 and Canton with 35.

For the girls senior Hannah Morey (13.67) and junior Kate DeCamp (13.8) were 4th and 5th in the 100m, DeCamp (29.92) and junior Liliana Cueno (30.4) were 2nd and 3rd in the 200m, sophomore Emily Richardson (1:09.64) was 2nd in the 400m, junior Madeline Gage (2:55.0) was 3rd in the 800m, senior Madeline Bryant (6:47.85) was 4th in the 1600m, sophomore Madison Robbins (17:09.33) and freshman Karah Blackwell (17:46.41) were 4th and 5th in the 3200m, and sophomore Hannalee Cleveland (19.87) was 3rd in the 100m hurdles, Cueno (56.74) was 2nd in the 300m hurdles.

Wellsboro finished 2nd in the 4x100m (55.67) and the 4x400m (4:55.36), and 3rd in the 4x800m (12:03.53).

Freshman Annie Gehman (4-ft, 8) won the high jump, the long jump (14-ft, 3), and the triple jump (30-ft, 10.5), senior Emma Owlett (6-ft, 6) was 3rd in the pole vault, sophomore Grace Harlan (25-ft, 10.5) won the shot put, sophomore Isobel Anderegg (76-ft, 6) won the discus, and junior Alyssa Bisbing (64-ft, 10) was 5th in the javelin.

For the boys junior Jack Poirier (11.67) and sophomore Dillion Boyce (12.0) swept both the 100m and the 200m (23.95, 24.36), freshman Lincoln DeCoursey (1:05.53) was 7th in the 400m, freshman Chris Greenawalt (5:31.63) was 3rd in the 1600m, freshman Micah Vickery (19.67) was 3rd in the 110m hurdles and 3rd in the 300m hurdles (50.43).

Wellsboro ran a 46.02 to win the 4x100m relay. Wellsboro finished 3rd in the 4x400m relay (4:30.73).

Senior Justice Harlan (5-ft, 6) was 2nd in the high jump, junior Spencer Wetzel (9-ft, 6) was 2nd in the pole vault, Poirier (18-ft, 10) was 3rd in the long jump, junior Aiden Gehman (39-ft, 4) won the triple jump, Harlan (36-ft, 2) was 6th in the shot put, junior Wyatt Gastrock (114-ft, 3) and Harlan (104-ft, 7) were 2nd and 3rd in the discus, and sophomore Watson Feil (112-ft, 4), sophomore Noah Morey (108-ft, 10), Harlan (105-ft, 1.5), and sophomore Hayden Zuchowski (103-ft, 6.5) were 3rd-6th in the javelin.

Both teams are back in action on Friday at the Bald Eagle Invite at Lock Haven University.
