Three first half goals propelled Wellsboro past Northeast Bradford 3-1 to even their record up on Thursday, August 31.
“We had a much better performance across the field tonight, including a few set pieces," head coach Todd Fitch said.
Junior Lucas Cuneo put the Hornets on the board with a goal not even six minutes into the contest off a corner kick by junior Micaiah Fitch. Senior Caden Smith then added a pair of goals, his first was assisted by Cuneo with 23 minutes remaining and his second came five minutes later off another Fitch corner kick.
Northeast Bradford scored their lone goal just under 10 minutes into the second half.
Wellsboro out shot NEB 15-5 and had an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks. Senior Mitchell Butler recorded 2 saves in goal.
There was no JV game.
Wellsboro (1-1, 1-1 NTL) returns to play at South Williamsport on Saturday morning in a non-league contest.
