Senior Sara Seeling scored Wellsboro's only goal to defeat rival North Penn-Mansfield 1-0 on Wednesday, September 13 during Senior Night.
Seeling's goal came with 8:45 remaining in the first half, off an assist from junior Annie Gehman.
The Lady Hornets held Mansfield without a shot on goal attempt while taking 12 shots of their own. Wellsboro also had a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
"I'm very proud of all eight of our seniors - they do a fantastic job leading the team on and off the field," head coach Jason Gehman said. "Tonight's match against North Penn-Mansfield saw our seniors getting a lot of time on the field. I am proud of them."
Wellsboro also picked up a shut out in the JV game, winning 3-0 to improve to 1-1-1. Sophomore Emily Benjamin scored a pair of goals and freshman Kaelyn Peterson added one.
Wellsboro improves to 2-4 (1-3 NTL). The team is back in action at Towanda on Saturday morning.
