The Wellsboro Girls Soccer team snapped their three-game losing streak after a 2-1 win over rival North Penn-Mansfield on Tuesday, September 26.
Senior Sara Seeling scored both goals for the Lady Hornets. The first one came with 29:19 remaining, assisted by junior Cassidy Mitchell. Seeling later scored unassisted with 12:36 left to play in the opening half.
North Penn-Mansfield scored with 5:55 remaining to avoid the shut out.
Wellsboro took 25 shots on goal while holding the Lady Tigers to just 3 in the game. Wellsboro also had a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman Jadyn Dunlap made one save in goal.
Wellsboro also won the JV game 3-1 to improve to 3-1-1 on the year. Sophomore Emily Benjamin, junior Madelynn Losinger and freshman Ella Boyce scored in the game.
The win improves the Lady Hornets to 3-7 (2-5 NTL). The team is back in action Thursday against Towanda.
