Selinsgrove wins league opener

MILTON — Reis Naugle scored eight of his game-high 18 points in the first quarter, sparking Selinsgrove’s strong effort in a 43-34 win over Milton in Heartland Athletic Conference-Division I boys basketball .
The Seals (6-4) limited the host Black Panthers to nine points or fewer in each of the first three quarters while building a 30-18 lead. Naugle, a junior, scored 11 points in that span, while senior Nate Cataldi added a pair of 3-pointers.
The Seals went 3-for-7 at the foul line in the fourth quarter, and Milton put in 16 points to slightly close the gap.
Nijel Hunter (11 points), Luke DeLong (nine), Jace Brandt (seven) and Xzavier Minium (five) each hit a 3-pointer in the fourth for the Black Panthers (4-4).
