ATHENS - Junior newcomer Jase Babcock won four events, and seniors Emma Pernaselli and Kelley Reid were triple-winners to lead Athens to wins over Williamson, NEB, and Canton Tuesday afternoon in a four-team NTL track & field meet here at Alumni Stadium.
Boys: Athens 91, Williamson 48, NEB 33, Canton 17
Babcock was a quad-winner, while Reid won three events, and sophomore Brenden Comstock was a double-winner as Athens racked up three wins on the day. Babcock won the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, while junior Peter Jones was second at 17-feet, 8-inches, and senior Davin Spencer was third at 17-feet, 2-inches.
Girls: Athens 99, Canton 31, NEB 30, Williamson 29
Pernaselli was a triple-winner, while seniors Emily Henderson and Abby Panek, and sophomores Abby Burgess and Lizzie Gorsline were double-winners for the Wildcats in wins over Canton, NEB, and Williamson.
Emma Pernaselli won the shot put with a heave of 32-feet, 2-inches. She won the javelin with a throw of 93-feet, 9-inches.
