ONEONTA - Senior Sara Bronson won gold here Saturday at the Flash Forbes Cross Country Invitational, leading five Valley girls place in the top 10.
The Wildcats finished second in the team standings with 77 placement points, with Delhi winning the team title with 62 points. Waverly finished eighth in the 12-team field with 198 points.
Bronson won in a time of 20:38.2, edging Maine-Endwell standout Cassie Burt by 1.5 seconds.

Tim Birney is the founder / owner of River Road Media Group. He was born and raised in the Valley, graduating from Waverly High School in 1984.
Birney earned an Associate's Degree in Journalism from SUNY Morrisville in 1986 and a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism / Public Relations from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1988.
