Junior Max Macias and sophomore Lauren Kosek each won their respective races in an NTL tri-meet against Towanda and Cowanesque Valley on Tuesday, October 1.
Macias ran 18:57, nearly a full minute ahead of Towanda's Jack Tavani, who finished 2nd in 19:41.
The Black Knights beat CV 19-42 and Wellsboro 23-38. CV beat the Hornets, 24-33.
Junior Henry Whitney (20:08) finished 5th, freshman Lane Cozby (23:02) was 15th, freshman Jack Hammerton (24:36) finished 17th, junior Ethan Geneski (24:41) crossed the finish line in 18th, and junior Henry Nowak (27:12) rounded out the team in 24th.
Kosek did the same thing in the girls race, running a 21:15 and beating the Lady Knights' Izzy Larson (22:15) by a full minute.
The remaining Lady Hornets finished 11th-14th and 16th, led by freshman Molly Tice (27:22) and followed by junior Sophia Yoder (27:39), freshman Anja Przybycien (27:47), senior Karah Blackwell (27:49), and freshman Luisa Crocco (33:52).
Towanda beat Wellsboro 20-43 and both teams beat Cowanesque Valley, 15-50.
In the Junior High girls race Kaci Kosek finished 2nd overall in 9:16 while Brianna O'Shea Bowers (12:02) was 8th.
In the boys race, Taitt Webster (9:25) was 5th and Jacob Patterson (11:18) finished 8th.
Wellsboro is back in action next Saturday for the NTL Coaches Invite at Northeast Bradford.
