Wellsboro dropped a 14-0 NTL crossover game in 5 innings to Cowanesque Valley on Tuesday, April 16.
CV jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st, then added 3 more runs in the 2nd to take a 6-0 lead. The Lady Indians scored 5 more runs in the 3rd then added 3 more in the 5th.
The Lady Hornets were held to just two hits on the afternoon, one each by sophomore Tegan Del Rio and freshman Bailee Confer.
Junior Paige Logsdon started and threw the first 3 & 2/3 innings, allowing 11 runs (7 earned) on 11 hits with 5 walks and 2 strikeouts. Freshman Mazie Johnson came on for the final 2/3's of an inning, allowing 3 runs on 1 hit with 3 walks and a strikeout.
Wellsboro falls to 2-3 overall and 1-3 in the NTL Large School Division. The team is back in action on Friday for a doubleheader at Troy.
