Lady Warriors Sweep North Penn, Meadowbrook; Boys 2nd

Canton girls' track and field swept North Penn-Mansfield and Meadowbrook during NTL dual meet action.

The Warriors scored 78 points, just ahead of the Tigers (76) with Meadowbrook scoring 21. On the boys' side North Penn (108.5) won followed by Canton (54.5) and Meadowbrook (14).

For the girls, Canton's Alexis McRoberts (18.8) won the 100 hurdles, with teammate Daveian Crowley (13.1) taking the 100 title.

Canton's 4x100 relay of Stella Rockwell, Kendall Kitchen, Crowley, and Dana Wesneski won in 54.0.

Crowley (1:04.3) won the 400, while McRoberts (54.1) and Wesneski (54.4) went 1-2 in the 300 hurdles.

Crowley (27.6) and Kitchen (28.4) went 1-2 in the 200, with McRoberts (88-feet, 8-inches) winning the discus. Adrianna Yellenic (25-feet, 8 1/2-inches) took third.

McRoberts (29-feet, 2 1/4-inches) also won the shot put with Yellenic (25-feet, 8 1/4-inches) third.

Kitchen (14-feet, 8-inches) won the long jump as Cailyn VanNoy (13-feet, 5 1/2-inches) took third. Stella Rockwell (29-feet, 2 1/2-inches) and VanNoy (28-feet, 3-inches) went 2-3 in the triple jump. Rockwell (4-feet, 2-inches) was third in the high jump.

Kitchen took the pole vault at 9-feet, 6-inches, with Yellenic (71-feet, 9-inches) and Natalie Kapichok (69-feet, 3-inches) going 2-3 in the javelin.

For the boys John Whitehead (20.0) and Thomas Guindon (20.3) went 1-2 in the 110 hurdles, with Jordan Patrick Fitzsimmons (12.2) third in the 100.

Lawrence Halbfoerster (4:57.3) won the 1600 by .02 seconds over North Penn's Michael Knefley.

Guindon (51.0) won the 300 hurdles with Halbfoerster (2:18) third in the 800.

Canton went 1-2 in the discus with Wyatt Hilton (100-feet, 9-inches) and Talin Williams (93-feet, 7-inches). Hilton was also second in the shot put at 33-feet, 9 3/4-inches).

Wyatt Karpinski (16-feet, 9 1/2-inches) was third in the long jump, but won the javelin at 129-feet, 1-inch. Quincy Wesneski (122-feet, 4-inches) took second.
