Holden Ward's grand slam and Zach Colton's pitching leads Canton to a 9-8 win over Troy in non-league baseball action.
Down 4-1 going into the fifth Holden Ward hit a grand slam as part of a 5-run inning to see Canton take a 6-4 lead.
They added three more in the sixth to go up 9-4, only to watch Troy cut it to 9-8 in the top of the seventh.
With two outs and bases loaded Colton got a strikeout to secure the win.
Holden Ward (2-for-3) had a double to go with his grand slam while Cohen Landis (2-for-3) scored a run.
Colton (1-for-4) had 2-RBI with Bailey Gardner (1-for-4) scoring and driving in a run. Jason Mahosky (1-for-1) and Hudson Ward both scored twice with Hudson and Michael Beers each driving in a run.
Holden got the start, and Troy was able to knock him out after four innings. He had five strikeouts, six walks, five hits, and four runs, three of them earned.
Colton would get the win, going the final three innings to strikeout two with two walks, five hits, and four runs, none of which were earned.
