Brendan Gilliland hit a 2-out single to drive in Evan Woodward as Troy eked out a 4-3 win over Towanda in walk-off fashion during the first round of the District IV, Class AAA baseball playoffs Saturday.
The Knights led for the first half of the game, going up 2-1 after one. Both teams scored a run in the third, then Troy tied it up in the bottom of the fourth.
After two scoreless innings the Trojans got the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Woodward (2-for-3) had an RBI as well as the winning run, while Gilliland (2-for-4) drove in two runs.
Mason Smith (1-for-3) had a double with a run scored, with Logunn Heasley and Jack Burbage also crossing home.
Reed Palmer had an RBI with Lincoln Chimics (1-for-2) and Joseph Frye (1-for-3) both getting hits.
Camden Allen started and went three innings with the no decision, striking out four with four walks, two hits, and one run.
Frye tossed the final three innings to get the win, striking out four with one walk, and one hit.
