Wellsboro's Varsity Volleyball team won a 3-1 non-league game against Hughesville Wednesday evening for their second win in a row.
The Lady Hornets won the first two sets 25-13 and 25-18 before Hughesville won 25-21 in the third. Wellsboro went on to win the fourth and final set 25-21.
The JV team also won 2-0, sweeping Hughesville 25-20 and 26-24.
Sophomore Adelyn Frantz led the team with 13 kills while junior Blake Eckart added 10 kills and sophomore Peyton Keane chipped in with 14 points (3 aces), 10 digs, 6 kills and 2 blocks. Sophomore Kendall Sweet had 13 points (4 aces) and 7 kills, junior Ellie Largey made 14 assists, and senior Taylor Main had 11 assists.
Junior Madison Cruttenden made 10 digs and senior Alyssa Chilson and sophomore Teagan Novinger had one block apiece.
Wellsboro improves to 7-2 (5-1 NTL Large School Division) on the year. The Varsity team is back in action on Tuesday at Towanda while the JV team hosts a tournament Saturday morning.
