ATHENS - Athens scored the first 14 points the game, then fended off a North Penn-Mansfield second-half comeback attempt in a 47-40 win here Tuesday night in NTL Large School Division girls basketball action.

In a game of wild swings the Warriors came up just short in their non-league boys' hoops game, falling to Montgomery 44-35.
