Alyssa Parks punched her ticket back to the PIAA Track and Field Championships Saturday as they took second in the 300 hurdles at the District IV, Class AA Championships.

Parks ran a personal best 46.64, which is also a new school record, as she pulled past the runner to her inside to take silver.

"It's amazing," said Parks. "You can't beat this feeling."

Just before the race Parks came up just short in the pole vault, taking fourth at 10-feet, while also finishing 10th in the high jump at 4-feet, 8-inches.

"I pretty much knew this is practically my last even I can qualify for in states," explained Parks. "I just had to go run my best race."

She made states in the hurdles last year, but the field this year was stronger. Still, when Parks came off the turn she found another gear to go from fourth to second.

"That's thanks to my parents being on the curve," she said. "It helped me push myself even more."

Parks is seeded 12th at states, meaning she'll need another great race to get into the finals this coming weekend.

"I'm hoping so, I'm praying I do," she said.

Kylee Roy (16.13) was fourth in the 100 hurdles, just missing state time by a little over a tenth of a second. She also took 12th in the 300 hurdles in 49.76, and was ninth in the triple jump in 33-feet, 8-inches.

Madelyn Seeley (110-feet, 6-inches) was eighth in the javelin, as Parker Lee was ninth in the pole vault at 8-feet, 6-inches.

Ellie Spalding (28.21) took 19th in the 200, with the 4x400 just missing the podium in 4:24.70.
