Troy Girls Repeat As NTL Showdown Champions

Troy used a strong second half to down NEB, 58-42, to win the NTL Girls' Basketball Showcase Friday.
The Trojans held a 29-27 lead at the half, then saw NEB go on a 4-0 run to jump ahead 31-29 early in the third.
After that, though, Troy finished the frame on a 17-4 spurt to go up 11 heading into the fourth, and the Panthers never recovered.
"It's the best feeling ever," Troy's Alyssa Parks said about being 2-time NTL Showcase champions. "We switched our strategy, and just moved the ball a little more, and just ended up making our shots."
Parks had 18 points, five boards, four assists, and three steals to lead Troy, as Gloria Andrews hit four 3-balls en route to 14 points, to go with three assists, and two steals.
Kailyn Sterling notched 12 points, and two steals, as Giana Renzi finished with eight points, and three assists.
Kyah Renzo chipped in with four points, with Madelyn Seeley adding two points.
