Burgess, Gorsline Register Four Top-3 Finishes; Athens Finishes Third At League Championships

ATHENS - Senior Abby Burgess, who had the Wildcats' only win, and senior Lizzie Gorsline each had four top-three finishes to lead Athens to a third-place finish here Friday afternoon at the NTL track & field championships.

Wellsboro claimed the team title with 132 points, while Towanda was runner-up with 126.83 points, and Athens tallied 101.83 points. Williamson was fourth with 76 points.

Burgess won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:03.06, while sophomore Marlene Roelle was ninth in 1:06.56, and freshman Eden Fedorchak was 15th in 1:09.86.

Tim Birney
