The Troy Girls scored 19 first-quarter points en route to a 46-17 win over the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team Monday evening.
Troy held a 19-3 lead after the first, however the Lday Hornets outscored the host Lady Trojans 9-8 in the 2nd, but still trailed 27-12 at the half. Troy opened up their lead with a 15-0 run in the 3rd, then edged the Lady Hornets 5-4 in the 4th to close out the game.
Sophomore Adelyn Frantz led the Lady Hornets with 6 points, sophomore Kate Bryant added 5, and senior Lily Wagner and freshmen Kya Lawton and Lena Rothermel all had two points apiece.
Kyah Renzo led all scorers with 17 points.
Troy swept the evening, winning the JV game 39-18. Freshman Shayla Hamblin led Wellsboro with 5 points, sophomore Aileen Bowers added 4 points, sophomore Madison Nagy finished with 3 points, and junior Bri Stocum and sophomores Jennifer Belz and Amelia Hulslander all had 2 points each.
The Varsity team finishes their season 4-18 (2-14 NTL Large School Division).
The JV team also concludes their season with a 5-16 record.
