The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team held an early first-quarter lead, but ultimately fell 62-21 to Wyalusing on Tuesday.
The Lady Hornets led 10-9 after the opening quarter, but a 19-5 run by the Lady Rams broke the game open in Wyalusing's favor. The Lady Rams went on to outscore the Lady Hornets 34-6 in the second half.
Freshman Kya Lawton had 8 points to lead Wellsboro while sophomore Kate Bryant added six. Senior Lily Wagner, Amelia Hulslander and Aileen Bowers all pitched in two points and sophomore Adelyn Frantz rounded out the scoring with a point.
Lawton added 8 rebounds and made 4 steals, Wagner had 2 rebounds and 3 steals and Hulslander had 5 boards and a steal.
Wyalusing also won the JV game, 28-20. Shayla Hamblin had 7 points in the win.
The loss is the Lady Hornets' 4th straight, dropping them to 4-15. They are back in action Thursday at Towanda.
