WILLIAMSPORT - Bre Nixon and Haylee Meixel each posted double-doubles, and Kaydance Meixel continued her breakout season but the St. John Neumann girls varsity basketball team fell to Bucktail, 52-47, Saturday night.
Nixon totaled 17 points, 13 rebounds and five steals, while Haylee Meixel added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Kaydance Meixel scored in double-figures for the fourth straight game, going for 14 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists.
Neumann fell behind by eight points early and trailed by six at halftime, but held a fourth-quarter lead before Bucktail closed on a 10-5 run in the final four minutes.
The Knights get back into action on Wednesday, Jan. 28, when they host South Williamsport at 6 p.m.
