A 20-0 run by Canton in the 3rd quarter broke open a 13-point game at halftime to give the Lady Warriors a lopsided 53-18 win over the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team Tuesday night.

The Wellsboro Swim teams spilt a double dual meet with Shamokin and Central Columbia Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Indians and falling to the Bluejays.

Canton breezed by Wellsboro, 53-18, during NTL girls' hoops action Tuesday.

Daiton Thompson topped 30 points for the fifth time in eight games, but the St. John Neumann boys varsity basketball team fell to South Williamsport, 72-68, Tuesday night.

ATHENS - Athens scored the first 20 points of the game and coasted to a 61-10 win over Sayre here Tuesday night in NTL girls basketball action.

All season long the Canton boys' basketball team had been searching for a win. After some close calls they got it, getting 35 points from upperclassmen Monte Whitehead and Ryder Route Canton topped Williamson, 49-39, during NTL action Tuesday.

Troy got a balanced effort as they topped North Penn-Liberty, 50-33, to stay undefeated in NTL girls' hoops on Tuesday.

Canton had two medalists at the Ultimate Warrior Tournament over the weekend.

Bre Nixon and Haylee Meixel each posted double-doubles, and Kaydance Meixel continued her breakout season but the St. John Neumann girls varsity basketball team fell to Bucktail, 52-47, Saturday night.

The Wellsboro Girls Wrestling team took part in Saturday's Bald Eagle Area Tournament in Wingate, finishing 26th overall.
