WILLIAMSPORT - Seniors Daiton Thompson (48 points) and Jahki Brister (31 points) each scored career-highs as the St. John Neumann boys varsity basketball team came away with a 100-62 senior night win over Bucktail Friday night.
Thompson's 48 points are a District 4-high this season and the fourth highest in program history, trailing only Davion Hill (twice) and Brad Litchfield. It was also the first time a District 4 team scored 100 or more points in a game since Feb. 9, 2022, a 102-52 Neumann win over Bucktail.
Thompson scored 27 first-half points while Brister — after a scoreless first quarter — scored 26 points in the middle two quarters, to lead the Knights (11-6) to their eighth straight win. Haswell, the third Neumann senior, added points.
Neumann gets back into action on Monday, Jan. 26, when it hosts St. Joseph's. JV tips at 6 p.m., weather permitting.
