ATHENS - Athens sophomore Patrick Umber won a pair of individual events, and junior Ryder Morley and seniors Chase Ingram and Brendan Comstock each won one event, but Wellsboro came out on top in the NTL boys track & field quad meet here Wednesday at Alumni Stadium.

Senior Marek Mascho drove in five runs while hitting 4-of-6 at the plate to lead the Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team to a 23-5 win over rival North Penn-Mansfield in 5 innings on Tuesday.

Wellsboro swept Galeton 5-0 on the road Tuesday afternoon for their third straight victory.

The Wellsboro Varsity Softball team suffered a 10-0 shutout against rival North Penn-Liberty to open their season Tuesday afternoon.

TOWANDA - Athens jumped out to a 5-0 lead early and that was more than enough run support for Athens ace Gretchan Hiley in a season-opening, 7-3, win over Towanda here on a cold Saturday afternoon.

In her first varsity start Canton freshman Raya Preston tossed four hitless innings as the Warriors rolled past Sayre, 15-0, in four innings during NTL softball action Saturday.
